Would you like to donate to
Brixham Baptist Church?

image: Small Groups

Many people may not realise, but Brixham Baptist Church, although affiliated with the Baptist Union of Great Britain, is an independent charity and independently funded. Most of our funding comes through giving  from the congregation members of the church, and some comes from such things as income from our own café or hiring out our rooms. In essence, we are completely self-funded.

All monies we receive go to support the mission of our congregation or the organisations that the church members have chosen to support (like Baptist Home Mission, Baptist Missionary Society, Tearfund and others).  "Church" is "people", not just a building. The degree to which we can support our own congregation and the wider community depends entirely on the funds we are able to independently raise.

If you would like to bless us in our ministry we would be very grateful for any donations. You can even elect to Gift Aid your donation, but that is entirely up to you and your circumstances. We ask the Lord to bless you as you give to the work of the Lord in and around Brixham.

Planning your Visit

A Warm Hello

The following information is specifically for those planning a visit, so that you know, beforehand, what to expect on a Sunday morning.

church

When and Where

We meet at the Church Building (details here) for our Sunday Service starting at 10:30am. For your first visit, we recommend arriving a bit early to get a parking spot in the public car park that is behind the church, to the rear of the main bus stop. Sadly we are a town centre church and without onsite parking. When you arrive, you will be greeted by our Welcome Team.

Accessibility:

There is wheelchair access, and a sound loop for anyone who needs it. Please let one of the Welcome Team know on your arrival and they will help you to get set up. There are disabled toilets at the rear of the church and also in the Front Room café.

Our Service

The main service begins at 10.30am with a warm welcome from one of our team members and a relaxed and informal style and usually lasts about 75 minutes. In the service there is sung worship, prayers, sharing of testimonies and stories together and bible-based teaching to encourage us to apply our faith to our everyday life. We usually finish with the children and youth joining us and sharing what they have been doing that morning. There is always an opportunity to receive prayer at the end of the service or ask questions. We serve drinks and biscuits after the service ends. It is a great way to meet people, or simply take time to find your bearings. All refreshments are free.

And if you are not yet a believer, or have questions about the Christian faith, then you will be welcome too as we feel everyone is on a journey which is best travelled together.

What about children and youth?

We have a great programme lined up for children and youth, called ShineShine is a central part of our Children, Youth and Families Team activity. It's a great way for families to start Sundays! All children and young people are welcome, and parents and carers can stay as well (in fact you are encouraged to!) A Welcome Team member will be very happy to direct you to the leaders relevant to the age(s) in question.
