ANYONE THERE?

Does anyone listen when we pray? Is there anyone there who cares about our lives? Most people pray at some time in their life.  Amazing things can happen when we pray and so often people discover someone who listens. But it’s not just religious people. Millions of people who are not religious also pray. If that’s you, then we have a resource to help.

BOOKLET

The trypraying booklet is a 7 day prayer guide for those who are not religious. It’s been used by hundreds of thousands of people. It is often read and then passed on to friends, colleagues and neighbours. Get one for yourself and then pass it on to others. You can pick up a booklet from us at Brixham Baptist and many other churches and organisations in Torbay and Exeter. You will also see us out on the streets, so stop us, talk to us, and take one. Children and youth versions are available:

Planning your Visit

A Warm Hello

The following information is specifically for those planning a visit, so that you know, beforehand, what to expect on a Sunday morning.

When and Where

We meet at the Church Building (details here) for our Sunday Service starting at 10:30am. For your first visit, we recommend arriving 20-25 minutes early to get a parking spot in the public car park that is behind the church, to the rear of the main bus stop. Sorry, we are a town centre church and there is no parking available on the site. When you arrive, you should be greeted by someone on our Welcome Team who will be wearing a Welcome lanyard.

Accessibility:

There is wheelchair access, and a sound loop for anyone who needs it. Please let one of the Welcome Team know on your arrival and they will help you to get set up. There are disabled toilets at the rear of the church and also in the Front Room café.

Our Service

The main service begins at 10:30am with a warm welcome from one of our team members. Then follows a time of sung worship, we share news and notices, usually about what’s going on in the life of the church, one of our leaders will give a sermon that is bible based and that we can apply to our everyday life. We often finish with the children and youth joining us and sharing what they have been getting up to. There is always an opportunity to receive prayer at the end of the service. We serve tea, coffee and biscuits after the service ends. It is a great way to meet people, or simply take time to find your bearings. All refreshments are free.

What about children and youth?

We have a great programme lined up for children and youth, called ShineShine is a central part of our Children, Youth and Families Team activity. It's a great way for families to start Sundays! All children and young people are welcome, and parents and carers can stay as well (in fact you are encouraged to!) A Welcome Team member will be very happy to direct you to the leaders relevant to the age(s) in question.
