The people of Brixham are being encouraged to consider going back to church, though it may be to a very different church than they left! BrixhamBaptistChurch has just completed a major refurbishment of its 210 year old building, bringing it bang into the 21st century in the hope of attracting back a more contemporary generation. Phil Marsden, minister of the Church, says he has been saddened by church decline in recent years in more ways than one. “To see numbers dropping, buildings decaying and Christian values and morals declining across our nation is upsetting enough, but to sit back and do nothing about it would be a travesty”. He believes the Church should be at the heart of the community and says the Baptist church's prime position, right in the centre of town, gives it the perfect opportunity to be so.
