Brixham Baptist Church

We are a group of ordinary people who believe that church is a great place to experience God together. We are a family who believe that church should not only be great fun but also a place where lives are radically transformed. Whether you are new in the faith, old in the faith or don't even have a faith come along and we believe you will have an encounter with God over all creation.

Each Sunday we run a Shine session for families and children, which begins with a FREE tasty Brunch, before some craft, games and stories from the bible.

On holiday or new in town? If so, you are very welcome too! Please check out our New to Church page which has some helpful information for you. We work hard to welcome everyone coming along for the first time on a Sunday. If you've just moved to Brixham, then give us a try. You could be surprised what our services are like - definitely not dull or boring!

Planning your Visit

A Warm Hello

The following information is specifically for those planning a visit, so that you know, beforehand, what to expect on a Sunday morning.

When and Where

We meet at the Church Building (details here) for our Sunday Service starting at 10:30am. For your first visit, we recommend arriving 20-25 minutes early to get a parking spot in the public car park that is behind the church, to the rear of the main bus stop. Sorry, we are a town centre church and there is no parking available on the site. When you arrive, you should be greeted by someone on our Welcome Team who will be wearing a Welcome lanyard.

Accessibility:

There is wheelchair access, and a sound loop for anyone who needs it. Please let one of the Welcome Team know on your arrival and they will help you to get set up. There are disabled toilets at the rear of the church and also in the Front Room café.

Our Service

The main service begins at 10:30am with a warm welcome from one of our team members. Then follows a time of sung worship, we share news and notices, usually about what’s going on in the life of the church, one of our leaders will give a sermon that is bible based and that we can apply to our everyday life. We often finish with the children and youth joining us and sharing what they have been getting up to. There is always an opportunity to receive prayer at the end of the service. We serve tea, coffee and biscuits after the service ends. It is a great way to meet people, or simply take time to find your bearings. All refreshments are free.

What about children and youth?

We have a great programme lined up for children and youth, called ShineShine is a central part of our Children, Youth and Families Team activity. It's a great way for families to start Sundays! All children and young people are welcome, and parents and carers can stay as well (in fact you are encouraged to!) A Welcome Team member will be very happy to direct you to the leaders relevant to the age(s) in question.
